Contemporary Landscape Painter
The bridges, railways, and landscapes of the northeastern United states are the primary inspiration for my work. Through years of traveling throughout the region, I have become captivated by its iconic infrastructure and the way it exists within the surrounding landscape. My paintings seek to capture not only these places, but also the atmosphere, character and beauty that make them memorable.
My background in engineering offers a unique perspective on the subjects I paint. Whether depicting a bridge with its intricate steel framework, or the masonry of an old retaining wall, I strive to represent each structure with accuracy and respect for its design. Elements that often go unnoticed- weathered steel, brickwork, or the rhythm of repeating beams- can become central to the composition, revealing beauty in places that are often overlooked.
